About
Fostering A Beloved Community is a collaborative initiative led by non-profit organizations committed to restorative and social justice. We aim to amplify the voices and contributions of Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) American military history — stories that have too often been marginalized, overlooked, or erased.
From the bravery of the Port Chicago 50, who stood against racial injustice in the U.S. Navy, to the sky-defying achievements of the Tuskegee Airmen (U.S. Army), and the heroism of Doris "Dorie" Miller, whose valor at Pearl Harbor challenged deeply entrenched racial barriers, our mission is to preserve and uplift these legacies. We also work to uncover the stories of many more unsung heroes, past and present.
Through education, storytelling, advocacy, and community outreach, we work to ensure that military history reflects the full diversity of those who served — not just in uniform, but in the pursuit of justice and equality. We believe that by remembering the past truthfully, we help build a future grounded in unity, dignity, and shared purpose.
Join us as we foster a beloved community rooted in justice, remembrance, and historical truth.
Please feel free to email a brief introduction of your cause and/or specific mission, also include your website (If applicable), and contact information. We will review and respond accordingly.
